“New to the Dewey’s lineup, we welcome Steel Impulse. Each year something new, always a fun blend, always light-hearted and enjoyable to drink. We don’t think too hard about it and instead go on instinct. Or is it impulse?”

The premiere iteration is 80% syrah from Santa Cruz’s Zayante Vineyard and 20% carignan from Mendocino’s Poor Ranch. Both vineyards are old vine and organic. The syrah was destemmed, whereas the carignan was fermented 75% whole-cluster. Each lot spent a few months in neutral oak before being blended in tank and put to two stainless steel barrels. Steel Impulse received no additives whatsoever and was bottled unfined and unfiltered in March of 2020.
